Have your say!

We're now inviting the community to participate in a national research consultation that will inform the development of National Guidance for best practice in inclusive education for autistic students in Australian pre-schools, kindergartens and schools.

The aim is to help people who work in schools know how to best support positive social, emotional and academic outcomes for autistic children and youth.

So, if you’re a student (aged 8-18 years), parent, teacher, specialist, autistic adult, or professional with experience supporting autistic students in school or early learning, we want to hear from you.

Consultation closes at 4pm (AEST) on Friday 5 September 2025.

Call for nominations: Autism Research Awards

We are excited to open the call for nominations for the 2025 Autism CRC Awards for Achievement in Autism Research. The annual awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in inclusive research and research translation that exemplify Autism CRC’s vision, mission and values.

The awards are open to all researchers and organisations conducting high-quality autism-related research, and recognise achievements in two categories:

  • Inclusive research practice, and
  • Translation of autism research into practice, products, policy, and programs that benefit autistic people and the broader community.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Awards, we’ve also introduced a Student Award (Honours, Masters or PhD) for the outstanding nomination received in either category.

Farewell Adrian

Farewell Adrian

Long-serving Autism CRC Director, Adrian Ford, retired from the Board in July. Adrian has been a member of the Board since we first took on the work of our Cooperative Research Centre program in 2013. He was also a member of the SST Board, most recently as Chair.

Adrian has played a major role in helping to guide Autism CRC’s foundation, activities and successful delivery. His absolute belief that the best outcomes for autistic individuals and their families come from all stakeholders working together in research, the provision of supports and advocacy has been core to how we have and continue to do our work.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Adrian and wish him the very best for his retirement.
