Thanks again for your ongoing support. We’re grateful for the valuable contributions of the many individuals and organisations to our national collaboration, which has allowed us to deliver so many positive impacts. You can read more about many of these in our 2024-25 Annual Report.

Autism Research Award recipients

Autism Research Awards

We're proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Autism CRC Awards for Achievement in Autism Research. Three projects have received recognition for their outstanding commitment to inclusive research practices and translation of autism research:

  • The Autistic Pregnancy and Parenthood Hub: Translating co-produced research into community impact, led by Dr Abbey Love (Aspect)
  • Optimising general practice support for autistic adults: A realist review, led by Dr Kelly Birtwell (University of Manchester, UK)
  • Autistic, not lonely: A creative and participatory investigation of the experiences of loneliness and connection for autistic young people, led by Luciana Lisboa White (York St John University, UK) The awards were announced at APAC 2025 in Perth on November 14, 2025.

Scientia Professor Valsamma Eapen

Congratulations Valsamma!

Congratulations to Scientia Professor and Autism CRC alumni Valsamma Eapen who has been inducted as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Valsamma is internationally recognised for her work on the "Watch Me Grow" digital platform and South West Sydney Child Development Initiative. Valsamma also oversaw Program 1 research and operations as Director of Autism CRC's Early Years Program (2017-2022). The Fellowship is one of the highest honours in Australian health and medical science, recognising exceptional contributions to research, clinical leadership and the translation of discoveries into practice and policy.
