Autism CRC is currently working on a national practice guideline for supporting the learning, participation, and wellbeing of autistic children and their families in Australia.

As part of the guideline development process, we have tried to hear from as many people as possible about what’s important to them and what they think the guideline should include.

The initial round of consultation was completed in April 2022. Community consultation activities were undertaken with parents and caregivers, service providers, and the broader autism community, children and young people on the autism spectrum, and autistic people of all ages who communicate primarily in ways other than speech.

We've systematically reviewed the research evidence, along with the evidence from these community consultation activities, and turned it into a set of draft Recommendations and Good Practice Points the draft version of the National Guideline for supporting the learning, participation, and wellbeing of autistic children and their families in Australia.

This draft is open to community feedback from Monday, 18 July until 5:00pm (AEST) Monday, 29 August 2022. You can access the draft Guideline, associated documents and submissions portal from the Guideline webpage.
