The project team will conduct an environmental scan to determine what existing frameworks and tools that have been developed around the world.
There will be two components to the environmental scan:
- A systematic review of the research literature
- A systematic search of the internet to identify frameworks and tools used in Australia and around the world.
Both reviews will address the same two questions:
- What frameworks have been developed to guide the assessment and/or differentiation of functional strengths and support needs of children with developmental differences or disabilities?
- What tools have been developed to guide the differentiation of functional strengths and support needs of children with developmental differences or disabilities?
The findings of the environmental scan will be:
- Used as the basis for discussion within the Reference Group
- Used to directly inform aspects of the Framework
- Reported in the Administration and Technical Report that will accompany the Framework when it is released.
The method being used to conduct the environmental scan was registered in advance as per international best practice, and is available at the PROSPERO International prospective register of systematic reviews.
