Achievement in Autism Research Awards

25 Aug 2023

We are proud to announce the opening of the annual Autism CRC Awards for Achievement in Autism Research. The awards recognise and celebrate research and development initiatives that are exemplary of the Autism CRC’s vision, mission and values.

The awards are open to all organisations and researchers undertaking quality research projects related to autism, regardless of location or affiliation with Autism CRC. In particular, they recognise achievements in inclusive research practice and the translation of autism research into practice, products, policy and programs that benefit the autistic and broader autism communities.

Nominations have closed, with winners to be publicly announced in December 2023.

Last year's recipient, Professor Sandra Jones from Australian Catholic University, received the award in the Inclusive Autism Research category for their project, Autistics in Academia. The project sought to understand why the growing number of autistic academics remain largely absent from the academic literature. The longitudinal project was conducted across 12 months and involved 37 autistic academics. All members of the research team were autistic. The research methodology drew upon the lived experience of researchers across all stages of the project.

We look forward to seeing the best in autism research so please share this news through your networks!
