turnKeyRM named finalist in prestigious iAwards Queensland
turnKeyRM has been named a finalist in the Not-for-Profit: Community category at the iAwards Queensland, marking an important milestone for a platform that has been supporting Australia's research sector for a decade. The iAwards are Australia's longest running and most prestigious technology innovation awards, recognising solutions that deliver meaningful impact across industry and community.
Originally developed to meet the operational and governance needs of Autism CRC, turnKeyRM was designed to handle the complexity of large-scale, collaborative research programs. Over the past 10 years, it has evolved from an internal platform into a mature, sector-wide solution.
Commercialised more than eight years ago, turnKeyRM is now adopted by 23 CRCs, reflecting strong uptake across the Cooperative Research Centre community. Its growth has been shaped by close partnerships with these organisations: each contributing to the platform’s ongoing refinement, capability, and maturity. This collaborative approach has ensured turnKeyRM remains aligned with the real-world needs of research managers, program leaders, executives and board directors.
At its core, turnKeyRM supports the mission of research centres undertaking critical work for Australia’s future: providing transparency, accountability, and coordination across projects, partners, and funding.
The platform is also underpinned by a neurodiverse team, whose unique perspectives and problem-solving approaches have been instrumental in shaping a system that is both powerful and practical.
Being recognised as an iAwards finalist highlights not only the strength of the technology, but the collective effort of the CRC sector in building and evolving a solution that supports high-impact research.
As the platform enters its next phase, this recognition reinforces turnKeyRM’s ongoing role in enabling research collaboration and delivering outcomes that benefit the broader community.
