Autistic capacity-building in research and its translation

Autism CRC has long led or contributed to capacity-building programs or resources for autistic individuals to participate as peers in, and lead, research and its translation to policy and practice. This includes programs delivered through the Sylvia Rodger Academy. 

This project delivered a series of activities that will contribute to strengthened autistic capacity, participation and leadership in research and its translation to policy and practice. 

  1. Roadmap to strengthen autistic research capacity and practice
  2. Community of Practice for autism research and translation – Autism CoLab
  3. Inclusive and participatory research guidance and resources
  4. Participatory approaches in Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) processes.

Project activities contribute to Commitment 21, Action 5 under the National Autism Strategy First Action Plan 2025-2026.
