National Framework: Community forums, implementation resources and capacity-building

This project supports how the National Framework for assessing children’s functional strengths and support needs (the Framework) is put into practice. It has two parts.

Part A

Develop practical, community-informed guidance on how to engage with two priority groups:

  • First Nations peoples
  • people with high or complex support needs, and their families.

This work focuses on engaging with people in the autistic and autism communities in ways that genuinely reflect their diverse voices. The aim is to build knowledge and skills for deep, respectful engagement, especially with those who are often underrepresented in research and practice.

Part B

Develop:

  • a Light Touch Tool
  • a professional development pathway to build capability.

This includes two professional development modules, informed by targeted consultation with community members, community organisations professionals, and government agencies.
