Community consultation is now open!
We are interested in the perspectives, insights and preferences about inclusive education practices from a broad range of people and will undertake three key community consultation activities to help us understand this: an online survey, online focus groups (or optional interviews for autistic students) and a Delphi Study with education experts and school leaders.
We're now inviting the community to participate in a national research consultation that will inform the development of the new National Guidance for best practice in inclusive education for autistic students in Australian pre-schools, kindergartens and schools. The aim is to help people who work in schools know how to best support positive social, emotional and academic outcomes for autistic children and youth.
Who can be involved
We are seeking input from:
- Educators (including teachers, leaders, aides, specialists)
- Allied health and medical professionals who support autistic students
- Representatives of organisations that support autistic people or inclusive education
- Parents and caregivers of autistic children or youth
- Autistic adults who attended school.
How to be involved
If you are aged over 18, you can complete an online survey. The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
Consultation closes at 4pm (AEST) on Friday, 5 September.
Focus groups are now full. Thank you to everyone involved.
Your contribution will help inform practical, evidence-based recommendations for leading inclusive practice in schools and preschools.
Please feel free to share this opportunity through your networks.
